MEDICAL, SOCIAL, AND PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF REHABILITATION AFTER CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES

Abstract

Rehabilitation programs applied during the treatment after an illness have positive effects medically, socially, and psychologically. Rehabilitation aims to accelerate the recovery process, improve the quality of life, and enhance the patient's psychological and social condition. Several studies have shown that physical activity reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Although rehabilitation is supported by research as an effective and affordable treatment method, it is not sufficiently applied in current medical practice, leading to doubts among patients about its effects. This indicates that further research on rehabilitation is necessary. The rehabilitation process is carried out in stages through the joint efforts of a professionally formed team. One of the most important aspects of rehabilitation is its psychological impact. Improving the patient's emotional state increases the effectiveness of the treatment.
