Football is one of the most popular sports in the world. Many people, both professional and amateur, engage in this sport. However, as with other sports, injuries and traumas are inevitable in football. This article discusses the most common knee injuries in football players, their causes, statistical data, and the preventive measures necessary to avoid such injuries. Injuries can negatively impact athletes’ professional careers as well as their daily lives. The most common injuries include meniscus tears, ligament injuries, and cartilage damage. Improper technique, equipment, and field conditions are the main causes of these injuries. To prevent such injuries, it is essential to ensure proper warm-up before training or competitions, develop appropriate training programs, choose the right equipment and clothing, and opt for natural grass fields instead of artificial turf. All of these factors should be taken into account to help protect players and maintain their health and performance.
