The article highlights the necessity of learning English for sports students, the importance of its application and is dedicated to the features of the optimization of the English language teaching methodology using communication methods, information and communication technologies, etc. The article also presents with real examples the need for the formation of communicative and intercultural competence that will allow future athletes to use a foreign language in professional and social fields, taking into account the parameters necessary for free communication in the conditions of international sports professional activity.
