FUNCTIONAL AND SEMANTIC FEATURES OF THE PRESENT PARTICIPLE IN DIFFERENTIAL LANGUAGES

Abstract

In this article, the present participle is widely considered as an indefinite form of the verb, as well as its functional-semantic, grammatical, syntactic and valency features. Opinions about the origin of participle forms, the status of the “hybrid part of speech”, its dual nature, valence relations and the transposition of participles in the present tense are reflected in multi-system languages. A comparative typological method is used in this article.
