The English language has borrowed many words from other languages throughout its history. One of these languages was Latin, which has influenced English since its earliest days. There are some languages that try to avoid foreign terms as much as possible. They do this by creating new words from local elements. English has always used foreign words. English is particularly open to foreign influences.
The English language has borrowed words from several languages throughout its history. Most of the foreign elements in the English lexicon are of Latin or French origin, but a number of other languages have also influenced English, such as Scandinavian.
In the conducted studies, words from Latin are discussed throughout the history of the English language. It should be noted that the French language also had a great impact on the vocabulary of the English language for political reasons. Research has been done by several scholars and many good books have been published discussing foreign influences on the English language. These books deal with the history of the language and their chapters on lexis deal with external influences on the language. Complicating research in this area is the fact that there are no written records of the Continental Period, that is, the period before the migration of the Anglo-Saxons to the British Isles.
