Turkey and Azerbaijan are two important countries of the Eurasian region. Due to their ethnic, religious and cultural ties, these countries define each other as "brother states". Historical events at the beginning of the 20th century pushed Turkey and Azerbaijan in different directions. With the disintegration of the Ottoman Empire, the Republic of Turkey was established in Anatolia. Azerbaijan, which declared its independence after the fall of the Russian Empire, was invaded by the Bolsheviks and became part of the Soviet Union as the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic. Azerbaijan regained its independence in 1991, and Turkey was the first country to recognize it. Relations between the two countries, especially in recent years, have progressed from emotional ground to strategic cooperation against the background of local, regional and global processes. Attempts to revive the historical Silk Road, especially in the context of the search for alternative sources of foreign-dependent European Union countries, the successful launch of pipeline projects that will transport Caspian oil and natural gas to the West have given a new impetus to Turkey. Armenia's separatist, terrorist actions against Azerbaijan nullified the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh problem and made war inevitable. Azerbaijan's attempts to defend itself in response to the next military provocation created a legal basis for its entry into the war. In the current situation, having a strong enough army and economic and political potential has formed a courage in Azerbaijan.
