The article is discussed the issue of pedagogical features of the development of the Olympic movement in modern Azerbaijan. The Olympic movement is becoming more and more popular in the civilized world, thanks to the convergence of national cultures, mutual understanding and friendly attitude of people from different countries. The Olympic movement is a holistic socio-pedagogical system, which interacts with culture, economy, health and other industries. The article analyzes the specifics of the development of different types of sports in Azerbaijan, the basic principles of the Olympic Games, the importance of participation of youth and schoolchildren in international sports competitions, the purpose of the Olympic Games.
