Role of a leader in management of a sports team

Abstract

The article examines the organization of leadership, education, information functions. The qualities of a leader and the role of leadership in sports management are explored. The characteristics of managers and leaders are compared, the role of the leader in the management of sports teams is investigated. The article notes that the sports team is not only an object of management, but also an object of activity. In a sports team, the leader enters the hierarchical structure of the group, contributing to the achievement of the group's goals through their actions. The article notes the use of certain procedures to develop leadership in a sports team. Development of personal motivation for this; development of individual intellectual and spiritual leadership qualities; ensuring the social skills of the leader and his good intentions in relations with group members; the ability to quickly and accurately assess the situation, to know and take into account the characteristics and interests of team members.
