Development of field hockey in Azerbaijan and its existing problems

Abstract

The development process of this kind of Olympics in Azerbaijan can be divided into three stages. Firstly   - USSR period, secondly -  after the independence (1991-2000 years) and thirdly – starting since the beginning of 2001 untill the end of 2015.   

Though the field hockey existed till 1969 it started to develop in our country only starting from the same year. There was organized a seminar in Moscow connecting with the development of  field hockey and the representatives of our republic, Isa Gasimov, a football trainer from Sumgayit and Boris Zayons, the manager of football department of Azerbaijan State Institute of Physical Culture were invited to take part at the seminar.

It’s dissapointing that whatever was considered for field hockey as well as the contests, different projects was ceased in 2015. By counting all these facts we would like to draw the attention of the responsible organizations to the development of Olympics sports - field hockey  in our country. Our national teams, clubs consisting of youth and teenagers didn’t have chance to take part at the contests on an international scale. Moreover, the teams consisting of men and women, as well as of different ages were not allowed to take part even at the competitions within the country. Unfortunately, nobody was bothered about this case.

As a result of the research we come to such a conclusion that being as an Olympics sports                                              the professional field hockey training promotes to achieve high results in this sphere, to use all means and methods for the effective organization of the children’s leasure time. But today because of indifference and neglect our field hockey is going to lose whatever achieved up to now.
