AN OVERVİEW OF METHODS AND APPROACHES OF TURKİSH FOREİGN POLİCY

Abstract

For foreign policy research to reach accurate and instructive results, it is sometimes not enough to work with primary sources, for example, to present the reader with international documents signed by the country. You can easily be led in the wrong direction by statistical indicators. At this time, the methods and approaches that a researcher will use in constructing the story should focus on two main goals. The first is to grasp the essence of the issue, and the second is to reveal this essence objectively. It is widespread to use various methods and methods for understanding the perception of foreign policy as a whole. When examining Turkey's foreign policy, it should be studied in the framework of a unique phenomenon. The similarities and sharp differences between the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey were also evident in the foreign policy of these two states. Similarities in the foreign policy of these two states are noteworthy as a result of the common characteristics of being a "Middle State" established as a continuation of each other in the same geography, with the same people. Both of them tried to lead their existence on two basic principles. It consists in keeping up with the balance of forces with great caution and not entering into wars between states unless there is a threat of invasion.
