EGOISM AND ALTRUISM AS APPOSITE CHARCTER TRAITS IN ATHLETE’S MOTIVATION

Abstract

This article reveals the meaning of egoism and altruism, types of egoism, and also discusses the idea that an athlete tuned in to a good result should be able to enjoy the process of competition, regardless of the result. Emphasizing the great benefits of sport in everyday life, athletes should learn to recognize it and not wait for the day of competition to rejoice in a medal. When an athlete understands why he needs each workout and works hard on it, he enjoys pleasant fatigue, communication with peers and coaches. He is filled with a sense of accompl ishment and boosts with cheerfuln ess that have an impact on his daily life. Based on this, the athlete approaches the competition with greater confidence in victory.
