People all over the world agree that in the era of globalization, English is becoming more and more important. Many companies require employees to be fluent in English. Schools and universities around the world require potential students to be fluent in English. Job seekers, students, professionals, businessmen, actors, actresses, teachers, drivers and even housewives learn English for their own purposes. Many English teachers work hard to ensure that their students successfully improve their English. Experts or researchers in the field of teaching English have made great efforts to develop this professionalism.
In line with the needs and developments of English language teaching, its paradigm then shifted from the traditional whole class approach to a more communicative class. English teachers are always looking for effective ways to put their knowledge and skills into practice In traditional education, students are not given more opportunities to use the language they are learning. This is the reason why English language teaching fails. The use of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) is very demanding as there is almost no access to English outside of the classroom. One solution to allow ESL students to make the most of their English is to divide students into groups called group work. Many studies on language learning using group work have shown that pair or group work is superior to the traditional classroom model.
The article explores this area and provides extensive information on group work used to improve learning efficiency and result orientation, as well as the rules of the relationship between the student and the teacher necessary to create a better learning environment.
