PRINCIPLES OF WORD SELECTION FOR VOCABULARY WORK AND WAYS TO EXPLAIN THE MEANING OF UNFAMILIAR WORDS

Abstract

Developing students’ vocabulary and speaking skills is the main goal of the English language teaching. Although students have enough words in their vocabulary, they use only some of these words in their speech. Choosing words and explaining their meaning are important for proper vocabulary work. Our goal is to find and develop ways and means for students to use those words.
