TABRIZ PERIOD OF ACTIVITY OF JALIL MAMMADKULIZADE: SOCIO-POLITICAL LIFE OF SOUTH AZERBAIJAN ON THE PAGES OF “MOLLA NASREDDIN” (1920-1921)

Abstract

The publication period of the magazine "Molla Nasraddin" in Tabriz (between 1920-1921), issued by the prominent Azerbaijani writer and playwright, publicist, editor Jalil Mammadguluzadeh, as well as the study and research of the articles published in the magazine on the socio-political life in Southern Azerbaijan is needed.

One of J. Mammadguluzadeh's great dre-ams was to awake our sisters and brothers in the south from the sleep of ignorance and negligence by means of "Molla Nasraddin", to bring them to education, culture and happy days. The first issue of the magazine, released in Tabriz on February 19, 1921, was published with a circulation of 1,000 copies, which was a large number for that period, 600 copies were sent to subscribers, and the remaining issues were soon sold.
